dp re/searches and ponders existences and behaviourisms humanimalistically via sonic de/construction, psycho-acoustics and challenging boundaries since 1984. sound, a means to activate primordial shared emotions otherwise hidden by civilised experience, and a catalyst for pursuing engagement, change, insinuating awareness, meaning, tuning senses and delivering some form of release, often polemical and cathartic, that opposes the omnipresent reduction of existence and desires to cast aside artificial arrangements and constraints.

in 1987 dp co-founds hardcore-extremists fear of god whose existence is short and intense. subsequently continuing solo leads to experiments with the voice, an interest in body and concrete sounds, field recordings and the still prevalent search for experiences and phenomena that test and cross borders, habits, inhibitions and rules.

working for recrec (zürich label and distributor of independant music) in the late 80's dp gets to know rudolf eb.er (founder of schimpfluch, runzelstirn & gurgelstøck) and joke lanz (sudden infant) whose ideas and approaches prove to be of similar inclinations. common ground is quickly established and pursued. this loose constellation is also known as 'schimpfluch-gruppe' or 'schimpfluch-commune int.' and amongst others includes marc zeier (g*park) and daniel löwenbrück (raionbashi).

love for the sonorous, compositional and mind-altering qualities of sentients such as insects or amphibians and natural elements like wind and water deepens through a trip to southeastasia's wilderness in 1994.

in 1997 an injury that damages dp's back for life leads to workaholism at intensified levels.

with tom smith (to live and shave in l.a.), daniel löwenbrück (raionbashi, tochnit aleph label) and reto mäder (rm74, hinterzimmer label) OHNE is established in 2000, forcing 4 distinctive characters to constant tumult and some outputs.

dead peni is a solo-project initiated in 2004 using electric bass, a drum-machine, voice and backing tapes. the peni bows not only to rudimentary peni but also to the lifelong companions of dp's musical world that might or might not be labelled metal and punk.

dp was born in zug, switzerland in 1969 to an english father and a french mother; lives in zürich.
